My name is Beth Birsa.  I am a mother of 2 Burley students, a Reading Specialist, and serve on the executive board of FOB as secretary.  I chose to support Burley and get involved with FOB because I'm an advocate for public schools and care about investing in our community, schools, and most importantly, our children.  Since joining FOB I have had the pleasure of working and playing with a wonderful group of caring and talented individuals who share the common goal of helping Burley School become and remain the best in the city of Chicago.  I have co-chaired past Fall Socials, worked on the winter party in several capacities, helped with Annual Fund, hosted sign-up events, and enjoyed all the FOB social gatherings.  As secretary I take notes at the FOB meetings and help make collaborative decisions around fundraising and the overall goals of Friends of Burley.
