Abigayil Joseph

Hello, my name is Abigayil Joseph.  I am a passionate and committed leader of public education as both the current Chief of Staff to the Chicago Board of Education, and a mother of two daughters choosing Burley as our neighborhood Chicago Public School. I believe that our city and schools get better when we all pitch in, which is why I got involved with Friends of Burley, as well as the various other Boards, committees and civic engagements I serve, such as the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Chicago Council on Global Affairs Emerging Leaders Class of 2016, Joffrey Academy, Wood Family Foundation, and the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Policy. But truth be told, I joined Friends of Burley last year because “The Jens” cornered me and promised me friendship and fun. Who turns that down? I’ve loved working with other parents to support our principal and her incredible staff, and my goal this year is to resurrect Burleypalooza and make it a time honored tradition once again for the Burley community.
