My name is Jillian Jara. My homies call me Homeslice.  I joined Burley at the young age of 4. While I did manage to stay away from Burley for a few years after graduating the 8th grade, I returned years later as a parent and offered my children, a now high school freshman, Jadelyn, and my son, a 6th grader named Nathaniel, as tribute. My husband, the muscle, who I only let out of the house for Burley events, is also an active member in the Burley community. Silent, but active. Please don't look him in the eye it makes him uncomfortable.

When I'm not getting a tattoo or antiquing, you can find me on the block, whipping out the glue gun for my most recent craft project. Out on the yard, I'm what some might call a lifer. I was a room parent for 6 years, the PTA Vice President for 5 years, and an all around Volunteer for 9 years now.  I ran the Fall Fun Fair for several years while being a Burley parent as well as the various holiday drives held through the PTA. 

As a founding member of Glue Guns For Hire, a Pinterest inspired craft club in the hood, I joined the board of Friends or Burley. I thought I could use my power of coercion for good. The muscle agrees. I'm an all around good person.  I like puppies. I think baby feet are cute, and I work best under pressure. So, when you see me cruising through the hood, give me a pound and a hug and say "what's up, Homeslice."
